Nuff Love and Greetings!
"so an Icon is not a type of Christ, its a picture, or an image of Christ..I know seh most Orthodox Christians nah worship any Icons but merely exhibit dem in dem homes as works of art, an in dem churches. So I woman still seh dat Selassie was a human being, who was made an earthly king. I am not in de habit of honouring any man but Jesus seen? "
Ikon, "type of Christ", type of Christ does not mean a sort of Christ. but in the the Bible there are types. Like Jonah also was a type of Christ when he was in the belly on the beast for three days. Yesus Himself say so.
No, don't worship the Ikon, but display the Ikon, have it in your house, so that you will be reminded of the Most High.
The I is not into "honouring any man" but does the sistren forget that the Bible tell us to honour the King, to honour our parents, to honour (wo)man? Honour is not worship. Should we not honour Haile Selassie, in spite of the bible telling us to honour the King? Should I not honour my parents, or honour my wife, in spite of the Bible telling me so?
Blessed Reasoning Iah.
