Well, to a certain extent I agree with your feel here. Many people are often way to busy with other peoples and thing (whether they are Jewish or any other people), in an abnormal way, and are to much focused on politics and the external in general. That said, when you happen to be "a believer" (like myself), to which the Tanakh and B'rit Chadashah ("N.t.") are important, Judaism, the "Holy Land", etc. naturally become important "aspects" as well. Just keep things in balance...
