was in a small coastal town in Kenya "watamu" last week. and you literally see italian villas being built right in the middle of villages...million us dollar mansions in a stones throw from mud huts...quite disturbing; but brings to mind the idea of "willing" buyer/seller syndrome. reality seems to be that government is not willing to ensure equity, so the same ol same ol will continue.
have been here over a year now, and traveled all over the country and have only met one african 'american' who worked at cdc...3 african 'british' soldiers ... and that's it. African's in diaspora should engage the continent more as investors, development initiatives, or at minimum tourist.
