It's the 21's century's version of America's civil war as 21'st century plantation owners engage in a bitter bidding war for 21'st century million dollar slaves. I always wondered when this was gonna happen: When a great young player would realize that by sacrificing a few millions and some disingenuous media and fan adulation he could probably spare himself the pain of being unable to walk without limping, extend his fingers to their full length, stand shoulder to shoulder or eye to eye with his adolescent children or engage in physical activities with his grandchildren; if he had not been rendered an old man in his thirties, by the constant abuse of his body for the pleasure of America's massa class. Some credit must be given to one former gladiator, turn overseer, Pat Riley and his large ones.

I'm also pleased that it came about due to the machinations of the same Massa class for their dogged determination to deprive the slaves of their leisure/recuperative time by insisting they not only play an extended professional season, but must also make themselves available for the Massa class' International Gladiator Wars, such as the Olympics, FIFA basketball, etc. and despite all this many still end up homeless and penniless on city streets. Maybe now we'll see an all White-American Olympic dream team, until such time I extend my congratulations to those who nurtured and mentored Chris Bosh, Dywane Wade and LeBron James, may they become the pioneers of a whole new era of African-American freedom.
