Hay would only be good on the surface and there would have to be large barge type boats following the hay to collect it after it was laid down. The spill in the gulf is beyond repair at this point, only time will tell what the outcome will be. Combined this with so much conflicting information vs. what is ACTUALLY happening or has happened. At the very least - this should be a lesson - just like Katrina - what kind of misinfo and response we can be expect from the "powers that be" in an emergency brought on by accidental, natural or fabricated means.
