Good points as usual. A while back I brought up the issue of the aging population in the US versus the younger population in Mexico - there is a necessity to tap into the labor power and potential tax revenue of this population to keep the ship on course. There have been long term plans to integrate the US/Canada/Mexico into some sort of more "harmonized" unit vis-a-vis security/trade/immigration integration bureaucracy. The policy papers of the CFR, declassified documents from the North American Forum and the Security and Prosperity Partnership can be dug up and read online. The agenda is clear to see. The issue now for the political class in the US is - which way shall we angle(market) these plans? Is it through playing on the anxiety of entitled whites(red states) thus justifying further securitization of the border/national ID card, etc. or through a "good cop" approach where Arizona and others are viewed as pariahs to the perceived "kinder, gentler" approach of the gringo federales(which will likely pass something similar, but dressed up and given the stamp of approval by co-opted corporate immigrant rights groups?) In the end - the agenda and implementations will likely be the same. The empire requires it.
