About Me, and Who I am

Born and Raised in Jamaica, I came to the States in 1980.
I have a Wife and 5 kids.

I came from a family of 2nd generation Rasta, My Father was one
back in the early days of rasta 1950 to 1970,
and many of my uncles and cousins ramain Rastas to this day.

I was a devoted Rastafarian for 10 years, I study plenty about Ethiopina History,
Rastafari Movement, and Scriptures. Smoked nuff herb and fira bun nuff people who
did not follow the Rastafari livity. Celebrated at nuff Bingi celebration on
Haile Selassie Earth day etc.

My demise from the Rastafari movement took place over a series of 3 years.

I recall nuff times reading about Ethiopina History, hoping to find things that
validated my faith, and in some cases finding the exact opposite, I was really
searching Ethiopina History, hoping to find that they smoked herb, grew locks,
fira bun babylon, and worshipped a black christ, and that they viewed Haile
Selassie I as the returned messiah.

I was so excited to read Haile Selassie I autobiography, hoping to find out
once and for all that he was the Returned Messiah, I was so desperte to
look for information that supports Him as the Return Messiah in his book,
I was very dissapointed after reading that book.

I recall reading information about The Ethiopian Coptic Church, where they
spoke about the falacies of rastafari and how wrong the rastafarians were for
believing in Haile Selassie I as God. I was very distraught upon finding this out.
alter all that was the Church of Haile Selassie.

One thing that always lingered in my mind was the fact that Haile Selassie I,
never declared to be the Returned Messiah, neither was there anybody
professing it that came out of the Ethiopian House of David, nor from his
inner circle, neither from the his Priests or His familly. Him being the
Return messiah seemed to come only from Rastas in Jamaica.

Another thing that could not settle in my mind was the fact that our
lifestyles were so different, he himself nor his family did not look like me or
my familly, neither did they partake in the things that I held Holy, like growing locks,
and smoking herb, and eating Ital.

Then I started reasing with Ethiopina about Haile Selassie and learning about their
Culture throught an Ethiopian Perspective, and it all came together, I understood
why he did the things he did and acted the way he acted.

I must say through a rasta perspective many questions were left unanswered,
and my heart was not a peace.

One thing that did settle in my mind was His Words and Movements. How dedicated he
was to His Christian Faith, and His People.
I love Haile Selassie I and still read his words for comfort and inspiration to this day,
I no longer regard him as God in the Flesh, but look to him as a Prophet of God more Like KING DAVID in This Generation.

He remains in my mind as the Standard for all Christians, and the Missing Link in Christianity
and Africa.

I am now very Faithful and Secure, I cut my locks no longer smoke herb. Thanks to Haile Selassie I who set the standard in my life. He is one of the figures who have greatly influenced my life.

I follow and worship the God he worship,
and live the life he lived.
