As in most cases, the custodians of the environment usually benefit from the spinoffs of low paying jobs; becoming beggars, thieves and prostitute; signifying that they have lost controll of their lives and environment. The solution is to have tourism without destroying the local culture throgh the infusion of consumerism and the money economy. Tourism should enhance and grow the local culture with the native populace in control and management; being the primary beneficiery of the industry.
