It's the proverbial spoonful of sugar, that makes the bitter tasting medicine palatable.
By aligning their babarian ancestors to our noble ones they have created the spectre of respectability; by masking its taste, their poison becomes nectar.
The device has been so successful that many of us are unable to distinguish between the two and will not accept the nectar unless its laced with the poison.
