I thank you for the good words karibkween. The best thing about this forum is how it enables us to test the validity of our beliefs against the knowledge of those who know more than or different from ourselves.
If I present a concept that represents my Self and a person validates that concept, then I will be grateful. But if on the contrary, a person can show me how this concept is based on error, then I will also be grateful. I am still learning and I intend to search out more wisdom until I die because I know this to be the reason we were put on earth.
seshatasefekht, I understand why you missed what I was aiming at. When I refer to the works of elders like Diop or Cress-Welsing, I do not merely repeat what they said, I also state where what they said has taken me. I try to illustrate the difference (sometimes slight and sometimes at an acute angle) between thier thoughts and mine by using paragraphs. Dr Cress Welsing's decoding of Oedipus Rex was based on the theory that the black man and woman were the parents of the 'white' man. So you are right when you say she was talking about what Africans had done to thier children.
However, I had also stated that I do not feel that the species called caucasian is descended solely from the African and I have been consistent in this. I refered to Dr Welsing because it was from reading her essay that I sighted on a deeper meaning for that particular western myth. My sighting was not the same as hers but she had led me to it so I acknowledged her.
