I am pleased to note that you came out in the open- you have a thing for the non-Abrahamic African religious systems. I was just cautioning you against allowing your enthusiasm to blind you from the fact that many Africans have found spiritual identity with the various Judaeo-Christian sects.
Africa is so complex, and so dynamic that when we dwell on what we see as its shortcomings, we fail to see the wonder of what it is.
I will tell you one thing, it may have been the Westerners that brought the Churches like Catholic and Anglican etc but I have not seen them taken as seriously as back home. Things like ordination of women, abortion, homosexuality- the African churches have remained firm. If Queen Liz II were to sanction some of the reforms, the African followers of the Church she is governor will not hesitate to break away.
The Catholics from my country who are here have had to bring over a Zimbabwean priest, because they do not like the way the Catholic church is conducted here.
