I agree that original Christianity did not start with Europe. It was later corrupted by Europe. Nothing is sacred to Europeans unless it is something upholding and glorifying their delusional idea of supremacy.
The Western (per)version of Christianity is not a beneficial 'belief' system for Afrikans at this time...in my opinion. You can go to christian churches on the continent (and abroad) today and see visions of a blonde hair blue-eyed Jesus.
Imagery is one of the most powerful tools that whites use to perpetuate their notion of supremacy. Even still, painting Jesus black does not wipe out the whitewashing dogma contained in the majority of the Christian denominations.
So in my opinion, Christianity has a strong foothold because of the influences of colonial missionaries. As ones have said on this forum before, "They had the bible, we had the land. Before long, we had the bible while they had the land."
I do not think Christianity will get black people out of the present situation we find ourselves in.
But, it ones find peace in solace in it, then so be it.
Time will tell
