Many Blacks in the Caribbean, the U.S. and elsewhere do not consider themselves Africans, and they do not relish being Black either, but that does not stop us from providing information that can address their amnesia. I suspect that part of the reason we post so much stuff about history is to help others with these problems that are associated with popular miseducation.

There IS a growing movement among Blacks in India (not the majority Hindus) to recapture their African heritage, and to make linkages with other Black Africans.

I doubt you can say that dark-skinned Blacks in India made the choice to reject their African heritage. I would more say that most of the views that are widely circulated from India come from the very dominant anti-Black Hindu community. The same anti-Black community controls the miseducation system. Dark-skin Blacks in India suffer the same problems as Dark-skin Blacks everywhere else.

The African Diaspora is not limited to Black Africans in the U.S., Africa and selected parts of the Caribbean. It deals with the wide dispersion of Black Africans throughout the world.

By that argument you made, then we should dismiss Blacks in the Fiji Islands, Papua New Guinea and elsewhere, because they did not have access to the information we do today. I don't agree.

Anyhow, recognizing these connections is primarily about ones own mental health, and then to be socially responsible and considerate to a wider group of Black people who share similar experiences.
