Actually I should have said it's a little different from "yardie", cos yardie always mean Jamaican, but Guyanese also use "banna" to talk about anybody, like saying that dude or that guy or whatnot. Kinda like how cats in NY use the word "n****", it could refer to anyone, not necessarily a Black person, you hear people say "that n**** Clint Eastwood" and so on.
Words are interesting tings, innit?
