Much like euro-science would prefer us to believe in a single East-Africa exit they would also prefer if we believed in a one-size-fits-all African. But the evidence proves that genetically Africans are the most diverse humans on the planet.
In addition, if we add size and the environmental variability of the continent to the equation, then it's just silly to continue to adhere to the theory of a single African phenotype.
If s cold climate and soil calcification could turn some humans into Graeae (The Grey Ones; blind, grey haired and toothless) then it should not be difficult to imagine African humans adapting to climate and soil conditions within the continent of Africa. Genetically the Efe are just as old as the Khoisan but no one refers to the Khoisan as Pygmies.
Both the San and the Efe belong to the same ancient haplogroup so there was no impedement to mating, epigenetics and environment would explain the rest.
The female ancestor of Hapshetsut was a Hottentot, according to hieroglyphs representing the people of the Ancient Egyptian's homeland Punt. I believe I expressed a view a few years back that the myth of Osiris, Isis and Horus among the papyrus reeds could just have easily originated in the Okavango Delta; as the environmental conditions are almost identical; and given the fact that it is older than the Nile Delta.
