Yes Sister Judah,More life.
One old Tibetan Lama once told me that his personal veiw was that because there was such an old prolific prophecy of the Chinese invading Tibet that its 'reality' had permeated the minds of many tibetan monks and so when they chanted 'om mane ped me hum' part of their fear of 'The Chinese are coming, the Chinese are coming' was often entagled in chant and prayer.....thus contributing to making a prophecy(which is just a possibility)a manefest reality.
Prophecies of (so called) catastrophic events are not absolute and are future possibilities that are to serve in a two fold way. 1. to give awareness to people so they may avoid a physical event by responding in a physical way(especially if this event does absolutely take place).A 'heads up'.
2. to give a possibility to people to reflect the absolute importance of ones 'inner state' as the ultimate and only eternal reality(the source of all power).....consciousness.This sort of enlightenment is described by some Bhuddists as being where one 'breaks fate' and moves beyond what they call the Akashic Record or the 'hall of memories'(realm of possibilities, repository of variations of probabilities within limited choice).
Full conscious enlightenment to many Tibetan Bhuddists is where one moves to the place of unlimited conscious choice not hindered by usual physical 'laws'...the anomaly,or the infinity, also regarded understood and represented in maat'hemaatics as the intangible. It can be written as a mathematical symbol of the figure 8 on 'its side' but that is just an understanding...the actual full consciously aware EXPERIENCE of unlimitedness or kRST is the OVERSTANDING.
I hope to make sense here...
Blessed.
