Wilhelm Reich was actually a pretty interesting guy. It's hard to say whether he went a little batty in later days, but he was thought of by U.S. authorities as being dangerous enough to be locked for 'patent fraud' for his orgone accumulating boxes which were apparently breaking up cancerous tumors so fast that people were dying of kidney failure.

Reich was a rebel student of Freud and Jung who

--preached sexual liberation and birth control far before it was fashionable, and was thrown out of various European countries
--coined the term 'orgone' for the vital energy, inside the human body and without, that animates the universe, and through his clinical work he posited that most mental and physical illness is caused by blockages in vital energy, which makes sense to me. He saw sexual orgasm as the body's way of releasing and balancing trapped essential energy. He is actually the father of what's called 'bioenergetics' and pioneered the use of physical approaches (skeleto-muscular) to psychological healing
