Re: White Rastas, what r your feelings on this?

I couldn’t resist to respond to you Iyah and say that in my opinion the same Whites who embrace Rastafari today are diametrically opposed to Black nationalists or radicals of today in attempted to hijack the legacy of the Honorable Marcus Garvey to rationalize their views. For them to suggest that Marcus Garvey was a colorblind supporter is ludicrous. Marcus Garvey was a radical revolutionary who was, by definition, PRO-BLACK in his thinking. Because he stressed that Black people should strive to take greater control over their own lives, unlike Ras Tafari Haile Selaissie who was an assimilationist and who defended Whites with their transgressions against Black people at some point..The overriding truth is Whites just want to push up their egos and agendas instead of helping Black people. So the motive stays the same regardless of them being Rastafarians or not. I think the most dangerous racists are White conservative elected officials though, because with the stroke of a pen, they can badly affect millions of Black citizens. To me the rest are petty bigots in comparison.

Bantu Kelani.
