Re: Noam Chomsky, Closet Capitalist

A few things in this article do contradict Chomsky's position.

A. When he invested in these blue chip stock portfolios, he was funding, not simply profiting off of, companies who stand against and occupy an economic system he detests.

B. His defense of passing on his wealth to his children would seem to contradict his views on class struggle. He is passing on a significant amount of wealth and copyrighting material to advance his offspring's position. The level at which it does is certainly a good point. On the surface though, this would seem to stand against his class struggle values.

C. For someone who says that material should be free, and that he stands against the capitalist system, he reaps a lot of benefit from his unfree and copyrighted material.

It is one thing to be a true political revolutionary. It is quite another thing to live a secure life, especially from your enemy's tactics.
