No one is arguing the fact that Europeans aggravated or exploited the differences among Africans? One does have to wonder why you are so adamant to place the total blame on Europeans. Why don't you make use of my suggestion to follow the Bos/Cattle.
The Massai weren't using Malaria to defend against European Syphilis; their knowledge of the disease and as such a treatment proves a much earlier encounter; and this is what probably prompted the "Tuskegee Experiment" because Europeans believed Africans had a natural immunity, much like the sickle cell gene protects some from the more severe effects of Malaria. Little did they know that 35% of African-Americans are skin-deep Africans; like many if not all of continental Africa's cattle-herding tribes. Be a good shepherd and examine the horns.
