Thankyou for the responses.I especially like the example from Ras Marcus. I see what you are saying.
Selassie live. Please read my post again. I have not said that all must or do sight Selassie as God, but also made reference to J.A to state for example the various ways that King Selassie is veiwed, as Iam well aware he is veiwed in many ways but is the nucleus of Rastafari peoples way of life.Or perhaps this is not universal, maybe he is is sidelined, however I dont understand how anyone can use the words Rastafari and say they dont look to Selassie I for the main inspiration for their life.
If Rasta is from creation then why deny anyone the right to sight it in Haile King Selassie?Sure, whites should be denied the functionality and presence to be involved in soley Black liberation movements, but I dont really see Rastafari as SOLEY a black liberation movement.Simple.
Baba Ras Marcus,it can be said that europeans forced the english language apon black people but yet you use the language called english and it is still a way of expressing a universal truth. The race you are is not universal, that cant be changed really. So I understand that bit.
Whites should stay out of the liberation aspect of Rastafari movement.Period.
There is absolutely no proof that shows that anything cultural is purely from one culture. Its culture.Animals like certain bird groups fly together for survival and functional reasons. There are certain shades of color that fly together but if you are talking biologically, yes certain groups fly with certain groups. So what, theyre animals they have a different place in creation, equal, but not the same as humans.Animals most times in their physicalness and functionality live and exist based purely on survival instincts. Humans can,and do and make alot of choices that are above pure survival instincts.A human can choose not to mate, have a mate, not eat, fight for territory or not, negotiate or not.The problem with the world is that many peoples want to make excuses for what they say is 'natural','Human instinct' and so on.Fear of survival ect.
Black people are trying to survive the holocaust,so I understand the separation.
So if King Selassie is seen as god by other cultures then, you tell me- what Is the appropriate way for them to praise him?Seeing you feel you can tell other races and cultures not to praise him 'YOUR WAY'(even though they may not even do that)tell all the other races what is the appropriate way.
If Selassie is your figurine for black liberation and nothing more then I can undertand you wanting to exclusivise Rastafari to a 'blacks only' movement.
If god is from creation, why even say Rasta? You dont think it has something to do with HIM??
So Chinese, indian, sth 'American' and Samoan dont question ones when they say 'Blacks only please'?Are you speaking for them?Do you even say what you are saying based on information?
Defend.Defend what(lol). How do you you defend 'Rasta' from creation,if Rasta IS from creation.Theres nothing to defend.Im a mix of alot of different races.Hows it when some say you cant be a Ras or true African because youve got Irish heritage Selassie Live?
Maybe Im wrong, but Ive brought up some interesting questions or ideas. Some of you seem fairly certain of what you say,so help me out and correct me.Im open to it,but not before I at least lay my cards on the table, which I have mostly done now.Bless
Haile Selassie I,or Rasta from Creation,or God ,or Creation...
