I agree with you, the mission to Africa was only a smoke screen which was set up by the Norman Washington Manley PNP Government, based on the recomendations of the University of the West Indies 50 years ago. There was serious tentions between Rastafari people and the Government at that time in Jamaica, so, the University did a probe of the Rastafari people's movement, and recomended that false imprisonmentv and police brutality should stop, and that they should investigate the possiblities of Rastafari people migrating to Mama Africa.
All of the African countries which the mission visited, proclamed that Rastafari people and African people in general are blood brothers of African people at home in Mama Africa and are therefore welcomed to Mama Africa. But nothing was done by the government or the University to implement the migration program, they just drop it like a hot potato, and now 50 years have past and to date there has been no migration of Rastafari people back to Mama Africa based on that program.
As for the reggea situation which you mentioned, most of them are just musicians trying to gather as much money as they can, and after Bob Marley and Peter Tosh and Bunny wailers became successful as Rastafari Teachers through their music, most of them just jump upon the band waggon, but they do not have any strong conviction concerning uplifting the African race. They are just trying to make a living for themselves but they are not investing in Mama Africa and her people evwerywhere. The journey of life continue.Take the best care of yourself and your people.
Again I send many oceans of blessings and self determination to African people everywhere.
ONE BLACK HEART ONE BLACK LOVE.
Baba Ras Marcus.
