Good to see this topic on the board. Even though we have had our differences in the past, I will say that I agree with the line Rasi is presenting here.

Africans governments today are mainly run by people who have no ideology. So to approach them with the expectation that they can be swayed by reasoning alone will be a waste of time. The only thing recognised now is money and while this has a lot of drawbacks, it also simplifies things in a way.

What is going on right now is that different people are establishing a presence in Africa as we speak. Too few give much thought to lessons of the past and so, no one is thinking about history repeating itself.

While we may deplore this fact of existence, there is not much that can be done right now. The only people who can act are those with a presence on the ground so, it is important that conscious minded African get together, draw up plans, gather the necessary tools and get to implementation ASAP.

There is a window open right now but it will not be open for much longer.
