Re: Neanderthal genes in modern humans

Eja:

Thanks so much for your analysis. The incongruities in the author's statements and conclusions, not withstanding, I feel we as conscious Africans owe him some debt for the presentation of genetic evidence. Whether these Chromosomal abnormalities are the result of natural selection based on environment, or hybridization, the fact remains that they are found in that segment of the modern human population which has proven to be injurious to the health and well-being of Africans, from the point of first contact. If nature meant for us to co-habit, the transition would have to be beneficial and the results positive. This has not been the case.

Since, Africans are the newer model, it should logically follow that nature's intent was the replacement of the older model. Therefore, as long as we Africans continue to "sin" against nature, we ought to be aware that we do so at our own peril. With this knowledge, the choice to co-habit with the other, becomes wilful or self-willed, and no amount of "church" on Sunday nor membership in Rastafari will provide absolution. We have created our own hell.
