When boukman and mackandal first coin the phrase " fyah bun , death to all weak heart " it was meant real physical death . Fyah bun out all of the slave plantation and great house . Death to all the weak , was, meant as actually death to all who are afraid to join in the struggle .Lightening and thunder was Jah's approval or blessing . " The white man's God only want your blood , sweat and tears " was their answer to all who trust in a foreign God .
To truly understand rasta , one must meditate on those word and phrases . Boukman a african from Jamaica and Mackandal a african from cuba are the true men who turn the tide of oppression .And those quotes were their chant .
