I do agree with you to a point in that one is built on the other, but there are also the interchange of the same stories among the various peoples. Adonai is a Hebrew rendering of a Greek Word. I suppose the change was due to Greek occupation and imperialism. At the same time, there are no Hebrew inscriptions in Egypt. So we find that what is Hebrew is really of Kanaan or really a Kushetic rendering. All the people from longer time call god by a different names, but uphold the one god principle.
