* I can't speak for others. I wasn't expecting anything from the Obama administration and therefore I'm not directing my disappointment on my "hopes" dashed because I didn't have any. What IS disappointing from my perspective is that someone who seems to - at least in some of his writings - understands a certain aspect of the unifying link between class and privilege in regards to the environment has been co-opted by a larger system that is diametrically opposite of his supposed insights. I guess it is a replay of Roosevelt - he may have implemented some good ideas - but they were subsumed under the rubric of the global ambitions of America. This co-optation as related to Obama under the rubric of American-ism I have elaborated on Rootsie's board.
