Rastafari Speaks

Re: Remembering Leonard Howell *LINK*
In Response To: Remembering Leonard Howell ()

Greetings,

Leonard Howell and his contribution, had for too long been marginalised. The process of marginalisation began as the Babylonian system's frightened response to the prospect of unfettered African freedom, offered by the founding of Pinnacle.

Until recently there has been precious little information, and the story of his struggle and efforts must be taught.

InI give thanks for The Gong who alongside Joseph Hibbert, Archibald Dunkley, and Robert Hinds, began to spread the message of redemption through Ras Tafari to the down pressed.

InI also give mention to Helene Lee for her work to bring Leonard Howell into the public domain with her book 'The First Rasta - Leonard Howell' and her documentary of the same name.

However it is up to us to remember, and pass on the story of his contribution, and to continue with the same energy that The Gong demonstrated.

To quote His Imperial Majesty:

"What we may utter today can add little to the heroic struggle of those who by their example, have shown us how precious are freedom and human dignity and of how little value is life without them. Their deeds are written in history"

InI believe that The Gong is one of those to be included in the above.

Peace and Love
