Perhaps I should have phrased it better . . . It seems that here in the West the discourse is either that it is man made or it is cyclical . . . and never the twain shall meet with either side picking a position based on their agenda. I have felt that we are in the midst of a cyclical transition, whether you call it a new age or a kali yuga or a shifting of the pole star, etc.
The sacrifice of the solar god at year 0 signified one age, and if any of the calendrical systems are to believed - the house shifts every 2000 years or so . . . not to mention the other cyclical transitions that may align at the same time. It is interesting that the Egyptian new year of 2001 saw a symbolic sacrificial event - the entrance of the age celebrated by those who may know a bit more about "what time it is"?
