Here's another observation:
According to Wiki the Aloe Vera plant is supposed to have originated in "the southern half of the Arabian peninsula; Canary Islands and Cape Verde." However there is a South African species; Aloe Ferox which is not found in Southern Arabia and it figures it would be the one on the endangered species list. The name Ferox also suggests that it might be the original, as 'wild' is a term we all use to describe weeds or uncultivated plants.
