I'm reminded of that story of the Indian Yogi who has not been eating. I believe I posted it a few months back because something about the story was compelling to me, and brought to mind Herodotus' obsessively hygenic Egyptians, I believe I'm now beginning to understand its full significance. Oral caloric intake (Food Consumption) for energy is a secondary option for human beings, our purest energy comes from our Sun God. It should not be surprising that people who consume the least amout of calories enjoy a longer and healthier lifespan. It explains the religious tradition of fasting or catharsis and reveals what we've already discussed that human rituals are based on utility: Much like solar energy vs fossil energy, its the build up of waste that gets us, and its probably too late for us to reverse the effects.
