My mother told me that once a dog begins to suck eggs he'll always suck eggs. Why must we always apologize for calling a spade a spade?
My first exposure to the 'Shylock' was in my 4th standard Shakespeare class, the word had no relevance because it was not part of my experience. Those from T'n'T would understand. Even after living in the U.S. for more than two decades it didn't resonate, that ended after my close encounter, until you've had the experience words mean nothing, so why is it that for a certain segment of humanity the rest of humanity must always guard their words, less the 'language police' calls us out?
