I don't know where this is coming from or going to but: A rat will blow the whistle on you or give away the plot while an ape will just mimic your every move without knowing the reason. Conscious people are wary of becoming a member of the 'Rat Race' and deny being descended from apes. The Bible says that rats are ritually unclean but apes are not listed under such. I just thought you were perhaps portraying rats in a good light!
