Such important word-sound Gman, give thanks!
I see this attitude as mostly as an extention of patriarchy (i.e. to control women is to be a man, thus one's manhood rides on controlling a woman whatever it takes) and InI movement CONtinues to be infected with that patriarchy crap. And IMHO the I rightly identifies the issues. I think it's important InI have to hold each other accountable (especially the bredren)!
A couple of years back I had one heck of a debate with a Black man who was claiming that paternalism (in the most condescending sense of the word) is essentially African... (his African girlfriend at the time was considerably less than impressed, lol!)
For I, far too many wombmen still feel they have to turn away from Rastafari due to patriarchal ideals and bredren who have some laundry list of mundane rules that dem Empress "must follow".
...bun dat.
