From my Los Angeles vantage point the “Press” appear to be embroiled in a prank known to Trinis as “Send the fool further;” and I’m having a good laugh watching the Karma of the Universe in action.
It has become apparent that this event; Michael’s untimely death, has exposed, with few exceptions, the regression of our national and local media, into a disingenuous bunch of sycophants; a Carnival troupe accompanied by the attendant Bacchanalia; unable to resist the chase of one rumor after another. It seems poetic justice for a man who for most of his life was unable to escape the glare of the media’s spotlight.
The latest is who will pay for the memorial. The Jackson’s are not obligated to pay one dime. The fact that they have offered free tickets for a public memorial and have agreed to a live feed, free of charge, to the media for availability to Michael’s fans around the globe is more than generous. The public official/deputy Mayor has already stated that funds are set aside annually to deal with such events. The problem lies in the fact that the more they try to crucify him the more they enhance the love of his fans; because what the "Great White Whore" has failed to grasp is that Michael touched peoples’ souls. The more they try to destroy his image the more they drive those who love him to suicide.
