Wallowing in guilt and shame serve no purpose but to delay action. The guilt you speak of is an emotion, not a motivation. Ones addressing the issue of white privilege are addressing an issue about moral integrity and character, not a reverse psychosomatic one. What I have seen as evidence is ones not legitimately addressing these issues indeed suffer psychosomatically. Truth and Right, Simple.

Throwing catch words out there is an old tactic to distract from reasoning or to marginalize views. Back up the basis of your reasoning with more substance. Could you please tell I what you mean by shame and guilt? Can you define this guilt and shame you speak of? How are ones addressing the issue of white privilege wallowing in guilt and shame? Some examples...a clear analysis please.

Do you know Tim Wise or "all these other white guy freedom fighters" and what they do everyday? Certainly you are implying you do, once again where is the substance of this claim?

Safety is a funny thing played out in this reasoning, time and time again....just like the revelance I saw in posting this article...first ones come in the morning saying "different yet Rasta Still" addressing mainly externalities of the movement then by mid-afternoon when ones are not jumping on that bandwagon and instead legitimately addressing key issues.......up comes the post "thank you bigots" an attack because ones feel their safety is compromised....like a dog marking its territory in unfamiliar surrounding feeling threatened.....but as the saying go..."no door peep shall enter not even the dog pissing on the wall". This is not Elitism...simple Truth and Right...the key....with the key no need to peep.

Truth and Right is in your best interest as it is ALLS. Having dinner or being a shoulder to cry on provides a temporary feel good state...what is being reasoned about here is an overturning of the infrasructure of a racist classist society that thrives on the wealth of the dark-skinned people of the earth. It is sad to say but would you call those of us who recycle and promote recycling guilt-ridden? Or would you consider us trying to making a legitimate change in what is true and right.
