Blessings Baba Ras Marcus,
Please Itinue to share the memories of the early days; InI are blessed to have this opportunity to share with the I.
This particular recollection is particularly important to I as it reminds all that socio-political resistance has always been an important part of InI movement. When I was in university I wrote a paper asserting the significant role that Rastafari in Jamaica played in the decolonization of the country. I traced "oppositional consciousness" in Jamaica from the Maroons, and specifically the Trelawneys, to Alexander Bedward and Marcus Garvey to Rastafari.
It is very important that the elders such as the I have a voice and I would go further to say that it is important that these voices are recorded. Most the research material I have been able to find has not been written by Rastafari. There are some, for certain, but not enough. I would especially love to see more collaborations between younger and elder Rastafari, such as that between Ras Anta Merritt and Kes Tekle Ab, recording the passing on of wisemind from one generation to the next.
Give Thanks,
Blessed Love.
