You might want to consider that those who tried to move Rasta into the form of a ‘religious belief system’ based on Judeo-Christian indoctrinations were unaware that they inadvertently moved away from the natural livity of Rasta. This, though understandable given the circumstances at the time, have made it easy for many to claim they are Rasta and misrepresent what it was supposed to be.

I always hold that all these things can be better understood if the natural development is first understood.

Rasta is associated with dreadlocks, and that is an important clue about its origin. If that is grasped then simple truths are revealed that sheds light on many other things.

From that basic root then one can see the truth behind the resurgence of Rasta in the 1930s, and the reason for its resurgence points to things that needed to be addressed.

Truth is only simple to those who experience/know it, and for all others it is a painful challenge to beliefs.
