I also see that Selassie was trying to balance the old with the new...a very tough thing to do with the older tradition. Selassie I was a devout follower of Christ first, then a king. He was even so humble as to realize that it was no use in trying to stop the turn of events that led to the coupe....just as Christ, he humbly surrendered himself to the changing times. I know many Rasta here will chant me down for saying that, but I have nothing but Respect for His Majesty, and his humility and spirit both in character and speech, has been an Inspiration to me.
