Re: how is it ok?
In Response To: how is it ok? ()

Respect bredren.
I don't live by the Bible nor any other book. Is humans write them books, not Jah. There is much wisdom and truth in the Bible/Torah, but is not everything in there I feel I have to follow literally. If you want to say i cannot be a Ras with this philosophy, that is your right. But Jah decides who and who is a real rasta.
What I live by is the inborn concept of morality that JAH planted in my heart. You could sum it up in two phrases, 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you', but if someone do something to you or yours, then you have the option to 'do unto others as they would do to you', in other words, self-defence. That is the only time taking another's life is justified, in my personal opinion.
Now if you do live by the Bible and take every word literally, then you are obligated to follow the whole of the law, not part of it... meaning that, if Bob Marley was alive today, you would be just as willing to cast stones on him (as an adulterer) as you would on a homosexual. Leviticus prescribes the same punishment for both. As a matter of fact adultery is mentioned and condemned more often in the Bible than is homosexuality.
So... would this be the case? Would you stone Bob?
Anyway star i hope we can still respect one another despite differences. Jah guide.
