What Red Sea Did Moses Cross ?

Subject: [ethiopiawinet] Mosses & the Partition of Red Sea

Mosses & the Partition of Red Sea
-----------------------------------

Recently Time magazine published a critic on the story of Mosses and the
partition of the Red Sea. The critic says, “I can not believe that there are
still people that believe in such stupid story of Mosses in the Bible
etc.”(paraphrased)

Since we have been discussing religion and science, this story of Mosses and
the partition of the Red Sea should have an explanation in perceptible
manners, that is, in this day and age, no intelligent person would buy that
story literally. In fact, many people even see it as some kind of story of
children.

As you may already know, ancient Egyptians were well known in documenting
their history. Scholars are aware that accurate history have been discovered
which time had had obscured. However, these archaeologists have failed to
find
the slightest evidence of the Israelites were even in Egypt. This has
confused the scholars and made them suspicious on what had been respected for
many centuries as a self-evident. No trace has been found of Mosses’ mission
to the Israelites, their plea for salvation from Pharaoh’s tyranny through
Mosses’ leadership or their immigration to the plains of Syria. It is
believed that the Israelites were eight hundred thousand or more warlike
troops and were pushed by the Pharaoh’s troops.

This is the meaning of the story according to my belief. The Egyptians were
very civilized at one time in history. During their prosperity, they started
to forget the one God and started to worship many gods and idols. Scholars
have discovered the names of the kings and pharaohs, their deeds and
circumstances and the number of their houses and families, their religions
and
customs and their gods and rites.

It was during this time that Mosses came the warned them of impending
breakdown if they don’t repent and accept oneness of God. He arduously
warned
them to stop their infidelity and atheism or perish. However, they refused
to listen to his warning. Then, they were drowned into the sea of ignorance.

>From that moment on, they lost all their knowledge the prosperity. Thus, we
can learn that anything in the holy scriptures --the holy Bible or the holy
Quran- if the story sounds it contradicts with science, it must be symbolic..

Its spiritual meaning is what makes religion and science harmonize.

As it is a cliché to say ‘history repeats itself’, I see identical parallel
here in American civilization and ancient Egyptian civilization. Shoghi
Effendi, the guardian of the Bahai faith, describes the dethronement of
religions in the West: “The recrudesce of religions intolerance, of racial
animosity, and of patriotic arrogance; the increasing evidence of
selfishness,
of suspicion, of fear and of fraud; the spread of terrorism, of lawlessness,
of drunkenness and of crime; the unquenchable thirst for, and the feverish
pursuit after, earthly vanities, riches and pleasures; the weakening of
family
solidarity; the laxity in parental control; the lapse into luxurious
indulgence; the irresponsible attitude towards marriage and the consequent
rising tide of divorce; the degeneracy of art and music, the infection of
literature, and the corruption of the press; the extension of the influence
and activities of those ‘prophets of decadence’ who advocate companionate
marriage, who preach the philosophy of nudism, who call modesty an
intellectual fiction, who refuse to regard the procreation of children as the
sacred and primary purpose of marriage, who denounce religion as an opiate of
the people, who would, if given free rein, lead back the human race to
barbarism, chaos, and ultimate extinction –these appear as the outstanding
characteristics of a decadent society, a society that must either be reborn
or
perish.”

P.S. As always, questions, comments, and/or critics are most welcome.
