Re: why is Ras Tafari called weedhead?

Greetings and much blessings for your very positive presentation and contribution to this very controversial issue. I have been trying my best to shine some light on this very issue for a period of time. I hope and pray that people especially Rastafari people, will begin to be honest in their speaking and writing on this subject. I do not think smoking is a part of human beings, and other creatures natural function.
I do not think smoking or smoke, is good for human consumption. Smoke is not a food and therefore offers no nourishment to the human or animal structure.
Smoke is a gas which is created, when ever anything is burnt with fire. Smoking is a social adaption, a social addiction and a very bad habit, and is very unhealthy. When was I young and not learned, and wanted to be a part of the crowd, I followed some of my associates in the experiment, as I grow older, I was able to come to the realization, that smoking is not good for me or for any human being.

As for GANJA OR HERBS I have no problem any with of the trees which was created by the creator, for the uses and services of all living creature upon this earth. I do think that we are all properly served, if we get the juices from the herbs of the earth, and drink them for healing, instead of pulling smoke down into our lungs. Our lungs was created to breathe in fresh air and to let out stale air. One can be stiffled or be suffocated by smoke.

In the RASTAFARI MOVEMANT we like to say smoking herbs is used as a sacrement, sacrement can be easily offered without pulling smoke into your lungs. You can put your incense or herbs in a external container, and light it and offer your praises or Iyaies as the smoke ascends.

The Rastafari Move mant has being through many stages of reformation and is still going through more stages of reformation. Smoking is one of the reformation which needs some attention presently within the Rastafari movemant. Smoking has become a very controversal issue within the movemant and as a result, it is not easy to get Iyadren and sistaren to speak against smoking, since they may not want to be unpopular. However, those of us who are seeing the new light, should not hesitate to speak the truth as it comes to us.

I am looking forward to a very vigorous and edifying discussion on this issue. It would be a very good thing if people would share their very sober views on this issue, whether you are still smoking or not. You can still be smoking but deep down in youself you know it is not the best thing to do, so just start expressing the way you feel, and right there you have taken the first step, to solve a serious problem, which have been hurting you for such a very long time. Make that first move and keep on moving.
Again I send many oceans of blessings.
ONE BLACK LOVE ONE BLACK HEART
Baba Ras Marcus.
