The so called Maroons spend most of their time keeping the woods clear of runaway slaves which were their own black people, so, if slaves escaped and find some hiding places in the woods, and it was reported to the Maroons, by the british slave masters, that some slaves had escaped, the so called Marrons, would not stop searching the woods until those slaves were captured dead or alive. The so called Maroons, had an arrangement with the slave masters, that if the slave or slaves were killed in the act of trying to return them to the plantation, then the so called Maroons, should chop of the head of the slaves, and bring them back to the plantation, in order to be paid so much per head for the betrayal work of capturing their own African people. It was more profitable to the so called Maroons to kill a runaway slave and take his or her head back to the plantation, since they would get Ten Pounds, in money if they take back one head, but if they bring them back alive they would only get Ten Shillings. So, it was later decided to pay then Three Pounds plus mileage money, to those who bring back a runaway slave alive. The British slave masters and the so called Maroons became pardners in the act of enslaving African people in the Island of Jamaica. So, most African people do praise the so called Maroons for being great Warriors, but refuse to speak about their actions of being traitors of their own African race, by helping the British to enslave their own people.
Indeed these actions have taken place hundreds of years ago and forgiveness is possible, but the way for them to be forgiven, is to Abandon the European name Maroon, and take on any one of their original Tribal names which they had in Ghana, before they were captured and taken to the Western Hemisphere. These names are Coromantees, Akan and Ashanti. So, we say Maroons No No No.
Coromantee, Akan or Ashanti Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes.
Take the best care of yourself and your people.
Again I send many oceans of blessings and self determination to African people everywhere.
ONE BLACK HEART ONE BLACK LOVE.
