Well it seems as if the discourse is only framed around Egypt/Greece . . . what about the countless indigenous societies, small scale, non-empire that have existed for millennia? Surely these should be included in the discussion. I bet we could find examples of "democracy" in many of these. Do you agree?
And as a sidenote to the greater discussion - why is a great centralizer which wipes out local forms of worship/gods in favor of obedience to the ONE such a good idea . . .or should I say a better idea or one worthy of our greater admiration and praise?
