How many Americans do you think hold treasury bonds? Yet in the event congress doesn't increase the debt limit, bond holders are first on the list to be paid with whatever cash the treasury has on hand; and defense contractors are ahead of those citizen troops fighting in Afghanistan; still the Tea Party congressional wing has convinced many Americans that they're somehow fighting for their lives and the lives of their progeny.
When do you think it will become clear to members of the Tea Party that it isn't less government the Oligarchs seek, its a government on their payroll, who will do their bidding? One would think that for all the information that is available America's electorate would be the most informed, armed with unlimited accessibility; but information is not knowledge; what America is facing is an electorate filled with a belief system built solely on fear and fear-mongering.
The only way information becomes knowledge is when its internalized and personalized, otherwise we are just automatons reacting to external propaganda. This film Hot Coffee tells the tale of one Texan who actually voted for the tort reform law in the state of Texas; and then realized when his time came for justice, that it would be denied the same it was denied to those he believed fell under the banner of the tort reform propaganda.
Will the U.S. ever become a nation that isn't influenced by marketing; will its citizenry ever transcend the paradigm of "The All Consuming Self?" My plans don't include waiting around to find out.
