Rastafari Speaks

What the Ancients Knew *LINK*

It is said to be good luck when a son resembles his mother; the saying has been extended to say that its also good luck for a girl to resemble her father but one suspects that a recent, PC appendix, since in the real world it doesn't manifest as such; as the preferrence for Males has become almost universal. The importance of the male's inheritance from the mother remains paramount among the Spanish and is exhibited in their names.

There is also an old wives tale that says the birth of a male child represents the strength of the woman/wife, while the birth of a girl represents the strength of the man/husband. In the past I've dismissed this saying as sexist, assuming it to be just another disparagement like "the wife who wears the pants," or "the hen-pecked/p-whipped husband.

But what if these statements have their Natural Genesis in the suspect chromosomes of X-woman and whatever label scientists have assigned to the Neanderthal MtDNA? Is it inconceivable that these ancient hominids recognized overtime the fragility of these older (less-evolved) MtDNA; and naturally selected (genetically engineered) for the more viable genes. Or did nature take care of it; a la hemolytic disease of the newborn?

And if Nature did solve the MtDNA imcompatibility, did the ancients then recognize that boys had a 100% chance of inheriting their mothers' X-chromosome, but a girl had a 50/50 chance of inheriting her father's suspect X-chromosome. Thus if the wife was genetically stronger she would create boys, her DNA would be dominant, but if the husband was genetically stronger, that 50/50 inheritance turned into a 100% chance that his X-chromosome along with his X-linked suspect genes would not only be dominant, but also deleterious.
