There is too much talk of fantasy and hocus pocus for us to have a serious reasoning.
There is absolutely no proof of gods or goddesses handing anything "down" to humans.

Sounds like the same mindset that justifies "white burden" where the good old missionaries "helped" the poor savage unsaved people of Afrika and other indigenous lands.
