Rastafari Speaks

If you have a hearing/perception problem

Acknowledging where you come from isn't a mindset nor a choice; associating or prefering to be classed or grouped with a breed of people who don't look like your reflection in the mirror is a choice or mindset. Does Earl Woods look any different from Jesse Jackson; for all his Chinese, Indian, Caucasian ancestry?

Every African-looking person in the Americas has a percentage of non-African genes in their makeup. Here's a funny story: My mother, after a trip to the "Holy Land" and Egypt complained to me that "the people" kept mistaking her for Egyptian. As a proud Trini, this caused her no mean amount of consternation, I think mainly because they kept addressing her in their language, yet Zahi Haul-A$$, the self-proclaimed Ancient Egyptian expert upholds and promotes the Eurocentric lies that Egypt is not African. My cousin has the same problem in LA of being mistaken for Mexican, except for the fact that she speaks no Spanish, its like water off a duck's back; because she knows her heritage. Knowing and acknowledging that your ancestors have been raped or forced to copulate with another breed for survival is quite different from rejecting the breed of people who are your mirror image. That smacks of self-hate.

You challenged my right as an African-Caribbean to choose to reside in North America; I merely informed you of the fact that my Maternal Grand-father was a son of the soil, which makes me, his grand-daughter, at home anywhere on this continent. That is quite different from some John Q Public referring to me as African-American (it happens all the time) and I take exception to that label. Does Halle Berry object to being referred to as African-American, Does Obama? Do the millions of half-breeds, mulattos, quadroons, octoroons, etc, living in the U.S. have a problem with the label?

According to Earl Tiger is Thai; how is it Tiger had no Thai concubines?
