I watched the lecture and I think it was good that it was held. While I disagree with Kartel on certain points (such as his interpretation of the Haile Selassie speech among others)it is clear that he understands to a large extent the dynamics in which he is operating and the hypocrisy of Jamaica society (like many of ours). He makes for a good distraction for people of their own poor self concepts cause he give it to them on a more visible level and as is so often the case the more oppressed in the system are put up for primary focus for all kind of social pathology whereas for social "good", economic welfare etc the credit goes to those who benefit most.
