Never forget that it's a lot easier to manipulate money and markets than it is to manipulate 'real' things like people and food.
If the housing collapse was not proof enough, this coming failure; if you're correct about the attempts of the world's parasites to manipulate another human necessity; will surely take us all back to the stone age.
I have to allow your theory some credence because in hindsight it is very easy to trace the foundations of the housing collapse. Run-away development on the supply side; and to stoke demand, relaxation or removal of long standing federal banking laws, as well as a complete disregard of fudiciary responsibility on the part of financial institutions.
Maybe Iceland's model might still prove necessary in our future.
